Add Drawings
Listed drawings are drawings you will work with:
- Click "Add Drawing". The command will bring up a window for you to browse multiple drawing files.
- If you want to select files from other folder, simply call "Add Drawing" again.
- Drawing paths and names will be uniquely added and listed in column A and B.
- To remove drawings from the list, you can simply delete their paths and names.
JTB Batch Change initially comes with a list of sample drawings. These drawings are copies from AutoCAD's Sample folder.
Note:
Column C is for error messages that happen at running time. Sometime, some drawings might not be found, or some drawings might be used by another application. Sometime, some drawings might required a newer AutoCAD version.
View Drawing Objects
Before rename or change properties of objects in drawing, you will prefer to have an overview of them.
Click "Drawing Object Names List" to open the View Objects window. You will have to wait a while for Batch Change to open AutoCAD.
Then, you can select 1 or many drawings to see their Layers, Blocks, Page Setups etc. listed.
You can also use filter box to filter names.
For example: If you want to see layer with ARCH prefix, you can enter ARCH* to the filter box.
At last, you can click "Close", or "OK". "OK" command will copy the current result to D column. It will be useful later.
For example: you want to perform rename, or change properties of layer with specific name.
Rather than typing its name (which often lead to miss-typing), you can just copy it.
Note:
- If no AutoCAD is running, JTB Batch Change will try open the lastest version of AutoCAD installed.
- If an AutoCAD is already running, JTB Batch Change will take it to perform the job.
- An external application called JTB Batch Change Guard will run on top of your screen. This application will help the process keep on focus with AutoCAD.
